Lyrics

THIRSTY

23rd Psalm

Psalm lyrics from the book of Psalms
Additional lyrics by Randy Thompson
adapted from Keith Green's’
’The Lord is my Shepherd'

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want
He makes me lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside the still waters
He restoreth my soul
And leads my path in righteousness for His name sake
Surely goodness and lovingkindness
Will follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever and ever and ever

-------

The Lord of Heaven is my shepherd and I shall not want
These words of truth become more precious to me
As I am constantly aware of what I haven't got.
How long before You will come
And set this longing captive free?

And You alone can make me just lie down
In the cool of this deep green pasture
Safe from dangers that are all around
And from the quiet, still cool waters
I drink deep, drink deep, drink deep
drink deep, drink deep, drink deep

And You alone can restore my soul
You fill the longing in these empty places
You alone Lord can make me whole
And set my feet on the road of righteousness
That leads me straight to You
Leads me straight to You

And when I find myself in the deepest valley
With deaths cold shadow hanging over me
When I can't see to find my own way out
Lord I will not fear, I know You are here,
I drink deep, drink deep, drink deep
drink deep, drink deep, drink deep

The Lord of Heaven is my shepherd and I shall not want
The Lord of Heaven is my shepherd and I shall not want
The Lord of heaven is my shepherd and I am His sheep
And I am His sheep
And I am His sheep

By Your Grace

Holy You are holy
In Your mercy I stand here
Worthy You are worthy
In Your Glory I see so clear

Every breath I take, every solitary heartbeat
Every second of my life I owe to You
Every song of praise, every word of adoration
Every thought of love I have belongs to you

By Your grace I stand here
In the mercy that You’ve shown me
By the faith that You give I stand in awe
Of the love that could reach to the depths of my despair
Take my brokenness and make me whole

Jesus We need You to heal us
We are helpless without You
So come now and set us free
Send us Your holy light

Every breath I take, every solitary heartbeat
Every second of my life I owe to You
Every song of praise, every word of adoration
Every thought of love I have belongs to you

By Your grace I stand here
In the mercy that You’ve shown me
By the faith that You give I stand in awe
Of the love that could reach to the depths of my despair
Take my brokenness and make me whole

I Choose to Live

I choose to live out of who You made me
I choose to live out of who You say I am
I choose to live this new life You gave me
In You I choose to live

I choose to live where there is no condemnation
I choose to live knowing You are by my side
I choose to live as a new creation
In You I choose to live

In Grace beyond my comprehension
In Grace that meets my every need
In Grace that draws my adoration
In Grace that sets my spirit free

I choose to live in the glory of Your presence
I choose to live in the wonder of Your love
I choose to live knowing nothing separates us
In You I choose to live

I choose to live knowing You are always for me
I choose to live where I've nothing left to hide
I choose to live where there's nothing that I should be
In You I choose to live

In Grace beyond my comprehension
In Grace that meets my every need
In Grace that draws my adoration
In Grace that sets my spirit free
In Grace that covers all my failings
In Grace that casts my fear away
In Grace that frees my heart to serve You
In Grace beyond what words convey

I Want To Know

I want to know the power I want to know the joy
I want to know the truth that sets me free
I want to know You in Your sacrifice of love
To know the strength that comes through suffering

I want to know the love You give
I want to know in You I live
I want to know the awesome power of Your resurrection

I want to know Your hope And know the peace
That goes beyond my understanding
To see You do through me Miracles of faith
That only serve to bring You glory
I want to walk beneath the flood
Of Your cleansing blood
To feel Your Holy Spirit living in me

I want to go with You wherever You may go
I want to have the courage Lord to follow
No matter what the cost I want to spend it all in serving You
Knowing that it’s not what I may give up
It’s not what I may loose along the way
Lord it’s true I want to know You

I want to hear Your voice If even in a whisper
When no one else around me knows Your there
To hear You calling me To come and follow
Taking up a cross I freely bear
I want to feel the flame that burns so bright
I want to hear Your voice as it speaks through me
To look into the blinding light and there see You

Thirsty

The journey is long
At times I feel so alone
Even though I know You’re here
So I press on, hungry to hear Your voice
Whispering in my ear

But what if this is the gift
And You are the cause of my hunger
And what if You are the source
Of the thirst that draws me to You

Lord I am thirsty
Come and drink of the living water
God I am thirsty
Drink deep from the fountain of life
God I’m so thirsty
Come and drink from the well that will never run dry

Day after day the landscape seems all the same
And I loose my perspective
And somewhere along the way I become aware
Of this deepening discontent

But what if this is the gift
I am here so You’ll find me
And what if this is meant to remind me
Only You satisfy

O Come, O Come

O Come O Come Emmanuel and ransom captive Israel
That morns in lonely exile here ‘till the Son of God appears
Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel
Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel

See the baby sleeping
Quietly He’s keeping
A promise made so long ago of Emmanuel
Set aside His glory
Clothed Himself so poorly
Only eyes of faith can see Emmanuel

Could it be now after so many years
The fruit of our faith is in view
Fervently watered by so many tears
The promise He made will come true

Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel
Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel

O come Thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
And drive away the shades of night
And pierce the clouds and bring us light

Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel
Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel
Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel
Rejoice Hallelujah Rejoice Hallelujah
Rejoice Rejoice Emmanuel
Emmanuel Emmanuel

Child of Love

So come this holy night
Look into the eyes of the Savior
This Holy child of heaven
Worship and adore
Lay your hopes and dreams before Him
This holy Child of love

The God who holds the stars of heaven in His hands
The God who sets the Kings upon their thrones
The God who sees beyond my limited perspective
He sees beyond the manger
A hope held in the fragile form of flesh and bone

The God who never sleeps and never slumbers
The God by whom I’m intimately known
The God who is the tireless creator
Inhabits His creation as His only Son
The glorious one

Chorus

Holy, holy Lord Holy Child of heaven
Holy, holy Lord Worthy of our praise

The God who stays invisible to mortal eyes
The God who’s only seen by purest hearts
The God who in His heaven
Looks upon the weak an weary
Who’s moved to leave His throne and glory
Meeting us in this disguise
Here He lies

Did You See Him Die?

Did you see Him die?
Did you hear Him call to heaven
With an anguished “Why
My God, have You forsaken me?”

Did you see the wounds,
And see the flesh where the nails were driven?
To hold Him there above the world where soon
His heart would break and His blood would cover me

God I can’t deny
A love so far beyond my knowing
That you would choose to die in shame
To rescue me
When I didn’t even know that I was lost

Could you see the thorns
Pierce His head in mocking cruelty?
And see His flesh in anger torn,
The scars by which our healing would be bought

Did you feel the cold
When the darkness fell around Him?
A loneliness that no one in the world has ever known
For one eternal moment though,
He could have walked away…
He stayed for me

Chorus

God, I’ll never know
The depths of love that drove You to abandon
Heaven’s glory for a cross
Where You would go in shame
To rescue me when I didn’t even know that I was lost

You Found Me

You found me in the wilderness I wandered
You found me when my soul had almost died
You found me when I could not find my way
Then I cried out Your name and
You found me

You found me when I chose to live in darkness
You found me as a prisoner in my chains
You found me though I turned my face away
When I cried out Your name
You found me

So I thank You for Your everlasting kindness
Thank You for Your everlasting love
Thank You for all of Your goodness
I will thank You forever You found me

You found me in this storm tossed ocean
You found me When my heart melted away
You found me When I finally reached my end
I cried Your name again and
You found me

You found me when my flesh grew weary
You found me when I thought that I might die
You found me in the midst of my afflictions
When I cried to you You came and
You found me

So I thank You for Your everlasting kindness
Thank You for Your everlasting love
Thank You for all of Your goodness
I will thank You forever You found me
So I thank You for Your everlasting kindness
Thank You for Your everlasting love
Thank You for all of Your goodness
I will thank You forever You found me

Why Do I Feel So Empty?

I have tried to live in the way I should
I have given up everything I could
I have sacrificed all I know to give
And still I feel so empty

I have praised Your name, I have prayed through tears,
Even when it seemed that no one hears
I have served You when my flesh was weak
So why do I feel so empty?

Are You listening Lord, can You hear me now
I want to please You if You’ll show me how
There’s nothing on earth that I’ve ever wanted more
Than to know You love me

I have died to myself  the best I know how
It is only You I live for now
I am running the race with all my strength
So why do I feel so empty?

I have read Your word, claimed the promises
Tried to form myself to the things it says
I have dreamed the dreams that would bring You glory
But still I feel so empty

Is there something Lord, that I cannot see?
Am I blinded by something in me?
Could there really be a simple way that I could know Your love
(Repeat)

Are You pleased in me for the things I’ve done
Or is Your pleasure more easily won
Could it be enough that I would learn to trust in Your love

I Surrender All

In the morning Lord be near me
I will need Your guiding hand
In the day when I grow weary
Give me strength to help me stand
In the night when I cannot see
Give me strength to believe
You are here beside me

O, I want to be with You Jesus
I want to be where You are
My life I give You Jesus
O for faith to trust You more

Lord Though I may fall and stumble
Help me not to loose my way
And though I may choose to wander
Bring me back to You I pray
And if fear ever overtakes me
Or this life breaks me
Remind me of this that

O, I want to be with You Jesus
I want to be where You are
My life I give You Jesus
O for faith to trust You more

All to you Jesus I surrender
All to You I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
I surrender all
I surrender all

Psalm 63

(Based on Psalm 63, The Book of Psalms)

O, God, You are my God
And I will seek You with all my heart
O, God, You are my God
I will seek You with all my Heart O, God

In a dry and weary land
My soul thirsts for You my flesh yearns for You
In the night as I lay on my bed
I remember You, meditate on You

Chorus

As You hold me in Your hands
My soul clings to You offers praise to You
In You alone I am satisfied
For my help is in You and my joy is in You

Chorus

Your lovingkindness is better than life
My lips will praise You
Your lovingkindness is better than life
So I will bless You as long as I live
With my hands lifted up in Your name
Your power and glory are all I see
In the shadow of Your wings in joy I sing

Chorus
