Lyrics

THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

We Want to See Jesus

Everybody knows the story I'm about to tell.
We've heard it all before we know it all too well.
So we must pray
to see through different eyes
For here, among familiar words,
the priceless treasure lies … sleeping

And here with within this tiny stall,
we never would have dreamed
that God would be so small
Wreathed in flest
And bathed in starry light
The fragile hope of all the world
is here with us this night… sleeping.

And we are impotent and blind,
Crippled and we’re broken
We come, approaching the cradle now,
As naked and afraid.

Not knowing what we’ll find,
Longing to uncover
The long-awaited promise
That we hope will make us whole

For we are needy and hungry and cold and alone
Desperately wanting to be wanted
Longing to see beyond star-studded skies.
Beyond shepherds and angelic voices that rise
Praying that God will now open our eyes
We want to see Jesus.

We want to see him as he really is.

We hold our breath as Angels bend
To see within this stable now
What we can't comprehend
For we are flesh and cannot see.
From their eternal vantage point,
A glorious mystery… unfolds

And we are impotent and blind,
Crippled and we’re broken
We come, approaching the cradle now,
As naked and afraid.

Not knowing what we’ll find,
Longing to uncover
The long-awaited promise
That we hope will make us whole

For we are needy and hungry and cold and alone
Desperately wanting to be wanted
Longing to see beyond star-studded skies.
Beyond shepherds and angelic voices that rise
Praying that God will now open our eyes
We want to see Jesus.

We want to see him as he really is.

We want to see Jesus.
We want to know the love that Jesus gives
We want to see Jesus.

Christmas Song

Prophets foretold long ago
That a Child would be born
He would be God's only Son
He would be a king
That would rise up to lead all His people
From their bondage in sin
Into new life again
Here He lay now in a lowly manger
Jesus never had a place to lay His head
He was despised and rejected of men

There was a star that was hanging
So gloriously in space
Led the wise men to the place
Where shepherds adored Him
And there they before Him did stand
This God become a man

He was the promise of all the ages
God's messiah come to take our sins away
Traded His crown for a cross on which His life
He freely gave

And I will sing hallelujah to the baby who's born
On that glorious night in a poor lowly stable
As the angels did sing
Of a baby born in Bethlehem
God's holy King
A Son who would reign
Forever and ever and ever

Repeat

O Holy Night

(Traditional Christmas Carol
arrangement by Randy Thompson)

O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Saviors birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
'Till He appeared and the soul felt it's worth
A thrill of hope a weary world rejoices
For yonder lay a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees
O hear the angels voices
O night divine, O night, when Christ was born
O night divine, O night, when Christ was born

O night divine, O night, when Christ was born
O night divine, O night, when Christ was born

Paradox

It's a mystery It's a paradox
It's a vision only seen through eyes of wonder
It's a miracle unbelievable
It's a story told in whispers from the heart

How could He as a man stand on the earth
How could God come down to Earth
That as God He holds in His hands
How could it be that this God of eternity
How could God now come through birth
Now must experience birth
It's a long way from heaven to Earth

It's a dark night on a long road
It's a baby wrapped in blankets in a stable
It's the final hope of a desperate world
In the crying of this baby at His mother's breast

Who could have dreamed that the God who holds everything
Could God be held in her arms
Now could be held in her arms
Could God be held in our heart
Who'd have conceived of a God who owns everything
Choosing to conquer my heart

Who could have known on that crystal clear night
What the calm refused to betray
This baby was more than we'd ever dared dream
In flesh what words couldn't say

Repeat first verse

Chorus
It's a mystery It's a paradox
It's a vision only seen through eyes of wonder
It's a miracle unbelievable
It's a story told in whispers from the heart

How could He as a man stand on the earth
How could God come down to Earth
That as God He holds in His hands
How could it be that this God of eternity
How could God now come through birth
Now must experience birth
It's a long way from heaven to Earth

The Mother of The One

Mary lay all alone in the night
The dreams of a young girl dancing around her
So aware of what awaits her now
She is soon to be married

All alone with her hopes and her fears
Questions surround the future
Suddenly an angel appears
And stands before her

"Fear not", the angel said,
"For the Lord is with you.
His favor you have found.
You have been chosen
To be the mother of His Son,
To be the mother of the one
The world has awaited."

"How can this be?" she cried.
"I am still a virgin."
"The Holy Spirit," the angel replied
"Will be the father of this child."

And you shall bear a son
And call Him Jesus
And He will be the One
To save His people from their sin

So come Emmanuel
Come be God with us
And here among us dwell
For all the world to see
That Jesus You're the one
Jesus is the Son of God.

The Gift of God

All creation yearns for this
In silence it lay waiting
Now the unbelievable is coming true
Before our eyes

The Universe awaits
With silent expectation
Joining in a mother's pain as on this night
A baby child is born

Chorus
The time is now at hand
God will speak to man
In a way that cannot be mistaken
Jesus Christ is born
As heaven holds it's breath
Here amidst the thorns
A rose has bloomed

Hope has come anew
In a light to pierce the darkness
The chains of death that bind us have been broken
And we're truly free

Chorus

Come this Holy night
Let us bow before our Maker
Rejoice in this, the Gift of God
Worship Him Jesus Christ our Lord

The Angels Sing

Once long ago Earth and Heaven
Met in a stable where Jesus was born
Such a lowly place
To display His matchless grace
For all the world to see

Here the Son of God lay in a manger
Here the hope of man lay so helpless and so pure
As the angels sing
Praises to His name singing

Chorus
Glory to God in the highest
Peace on Earth among men
With whom he is pleased

Shepherds came to find this tiny savior
The one who'd come to find us
When we were gone astray
Such an awesome plan
God become a man

Chorus

I can't begin to comprehend
The love that sent this precious gift
To men who could not even find Him room
That God would choose this time and place
To step into the human race
A helpless baby from a virgin’s womb
To think of the love
That would move the God of heaven
To bestow such a gift
To a world that would deny Him
Take on flesh and blood
And suffer that which only God can fully know

The star in the darkness led the wise men
To the place where Jesus lay
The Light of the World
Whom the Angels praised
With their voices raised singing

Glory to God in the highest
Peace on Earth among men
With whom he is pleased
Glory to God in the highest
Peace on Earth among men
With whom he is pleased
Glory to God in the highest
Glory to God in the highest
Glory to God in the highest

The Star

Was there ever before
Will there ever again
Be another journey like the one
On which the Wise Men pursued
What they'd seen from afar
They chose to follow the star

For the sake of a dream that captured their souls
They set out knowing nothing more
Than a few lines from a story
That was told
So many years before
They chose to follow the star

They choose to risk it all and lay it on the line
To be some of the few that choose to swim against the tide
To be the ones to follow a star that so few people ever seem to see
And turn a deaf ear to the world that's telling them what fools they'd be
To take the narrow road
The winding path less worn
To risk their lives and all they have
And give it up for the promise of an unseen treasure

This desperate world
Will never make sense
So long as we hold on to only what we see
With eyes of flesh
And refuse
To see what lies beyond
And choose to follow the star

And choose to risk it all and lay it on the line
To be one of the few that choose to swim against the tide
To be the one to follow a star that so few people ever seem to see
And turn a deaf ear to the world that tells me what a fool I'd be
To take the narrow road
The winding path less worn
To risk my life and all I have
And to give it up
For the promise of an unseen treasure

Your Voice

So often Lord I come before You
With an anxious heart I bring my needs
So patiently You always listen to my prayers
And when I’m done You watch me leave

And even now as I approach You
My thoughts are more of me than You
There are so many things I let get in the way
Of what I know is really true

Chorus
Lord I want to worship You with all my heart
Help me not get in the way

Lord I want to know Your glory
In Your presence I rejoice
Lord I want You to speak to me
Teach me how to hear Your voice

I am uneasy in the silence
I’m more accustomed to the storms
I tend to look for You in the thunder and the rain
And so I miss Your still small voice

And all too often I am guilty
Of believing that it depends on what I do
Though You have made it all so clear so many times
It all depends on You

Chorus

Jesus, Come

How many times I have known the longing
Wishing I could have been there
When the angels sang on that wondrous night
To the shepherds on the hill

And to follow as they made their way
In search of the tiny stable
And to be the first to see the face
Of the Savior of the world

To know the joy they must have felt
To be chosen for that moment
And to know they'd seen behind the vail
And witnessed a miracle

CHORUS
Jesus come and be the Savior we
Are desperately in need of
Let Your Holy light come pierce the night
And make a change in me

On the night when Earth was touched by heaven
And all the world lay sleeping
For a moment in a manger it all came clear
They glimpsed eternity

They could not know the love contained
Here within this tiny package
All they knew as they turned to walk away is
They would never be the same

CHORUS

How many times have the angels come
And we just could not hear them
For the noise and the rush that surround our lives
We miss the miracle

Now as then I long with them
To witness His appearing
But until the day I see His face
This will be my prayer

This Holy Night

It must have been dark
It must have been lonely
They must have been so scared
In the middle of the night
They must have wondered
If You were there

The angel's voice they heard so clearly
Must now seem so far away
How could they know, from this night forward
The world would never be the same

Chorus

How could they ever know that on this silent night
In the darkness there was born to us the brightest light
With a voice that we could hear God would speak to men
What was broken now could be made whole again
God's love shown bright this holy night

It must have been hard
There must have been moments
When they wondered why
In all the world of all the places
You would lead them here tonight

But with eyes they could not see You were watching over them
With hands they could not feel You were holding them so tight
And in their loneliness a myriad of angels stood
Surrounding them in silence as they bowed in wonder at this sight

Chorus
